UK & Ireland Production of ANNIE has been cast.

The upcoming UK and Ireland tour of wildly popular production of  ANNIE, which kicks off at Curve, Leicester on Saturday, February 25, 2023, has now had it’s cast fully confirmed. Elaine C. Smith and Jodie Prenger, both winners of Scottish BAFTA awards, will appear alongside the previously revealed Craig Revel Horwood and Paul O’Grady in the role of “Miss Hannigan” at various locales.

Alex Bourne as Oliver Warbucks, Paul French as Rooster, Amelia Adams as Grace Farrell, and Billie-Kay as Lily St. Regis will be in attendance with them. Zoe Akinyosade, Harlie Barthram, and Poppy Cunningham all share the lead role in Annie. Three groups of young actors who portray the inmates of Miss Hannigan’s orphanage join them.

Alistair Beattie, David Burrows, Sergi Ibanez, Rosalind James, Belle Kizzy Green, Ellie May-Wilson, Martin McCarthy, Phoebe Roberts, Lukin Simmonds, Matthew Sweet, Dawn Williams, and Tommy Wade-Smith round out the cast.

Brave little Annie is forced to live in misery and torture at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage in 1930s New York during The Great Depression. Her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the mansion of well-known millionaire Oliver Warbucks. She is determined to track down her actual parents. Miss Hannigan, who is enraged, comes up with a scheme to thwart Annie’s search.

This breathtaking production features the timeless melodies “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” “Easy Street,” “I Don’t Need Anything But You,” and “Tomorrow,” along with an award-winning script and score.

With lyrics by Martin Charnin, a book by Thomas Meehan, and music by Charles Strouse, ANNIE is a musical. It is directed by Nikolai Foster, the artistic director of Curve, while Colin Richmond created the sets and costumes. Choreography by Nick Winston, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound design by Richard Brooker.
