Dragons at the Docks is taking place in Grand Canal on Thursday 30^th August 2018

Dragons at the Docks is an annual fundraiser for Dublin Simon Community, organised by the Irish Property Industry. It is dragon boat racing on Grand Canal Dock, where teams race against their industry competitors to win, not only their sector, but to become the overall Dragons at the Docks 2018 winner. Last year the event raised over €160,000 for Dublin Simon Community and donated a further €54,000 to various charities such as Make A Wish, Irish Breast Cancer Research, The Ross Nugent Foundation, Liberty Saints RFC to name a few.

There are nine cornerstone sponsors for the event – Cairn, Dalata Hotel Group, Glenveagh Properties PLC, Green REIT, Hammerson, Hibernia REIT, Hines, Ires and Kennedy Wilson.

Teams are made up of some of the top companies in the country across various industries – property, legal, finance, built environment, building construction. 60 teams took part in last year’s event, and this year is even bigger and better with 72 teams taking part, all eager to be the Dragons at the Docks winner 2018.

Racing will kick off at 14.30 and teams with last race at 19.00 followed by prize giving at 19.30. During the racing, there will be Dunk Your Boss, from 17.00. We are asking all teams to nominate their CEO and fundraise ahead of the day, with all proceeds going directly to Dublin Simon, so this should be good fun on the day, with some of the countries top CEOs getting dunked.
