Rory McIlroy to host an evening with Sir Alex Ferguson at The Convention Centre Dublin

April 20, 2016

Rory McIlroy will host an evening with Sir Alex Ferguson at The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) on Tuesday, May 17th. The MC for the night is award-winning actor who starred in Sky’s Lucky Man and The Hobbit, James Nesbitt.

McIlroy will be back in town ahead of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and approximately 2,000 people are expected to attend ‘An Evening with Rory’ at The CCD. All ticket proceeds from the evening will go to the Rory Foundation.

I can’t wait to be back in Ireland to be able to host this event at the Convention Centre ahead of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. Over the course of the tournament, I want to raise as much money as I can for my Foundation as there are many children’s charities out there really in need of the support. As a huge Manchester United fan, I’m delighted Sir Alex has agreed to join me. And with Jimmy Nesbitt as the event’s MC, it’s shaping up to be a really enjoyable evening,” said McIlroy.

The Rory Foundation was established in 2013 to help children live better lives, to raise funds and offer support to children’s charities with a special meaning and purpose for Rory. Beneficiaries of the Rory Foundation so far include the Cancer Fund for Children, Mencap NI and Sport Changes Life, all based in Northern Ireland.

The Rory Foundation will host the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open for the second year running from the 19th to the 22nd of May at The K Club and a percentage of tickets sold throughout the tournament will go directly to the Rory Foundation. Local charities in the Kildare/Dublin region will benefit from the proceeds. Those beneficiaries will be announced next week.

Early bird tickets for ‘An Evening with Rory’ are priced from €60 and are on sale now at www.aneveningwithrory.com.
