March 1, 2018
Digital museum Epic Ireland, located in the CHQ building in Dublin’s docklands, is on track to become profitable later this year or early next year thanks to a surge in visitor numbers.
The €15 million “interactive visitor experience”, which tells the story of the Irish diaspora is forecasting visitor numbers will reach at least 150,000 in 2018, up from 120,000 last year, and from 50,000 in 2016.
“Every month is better than the last one in terms of visitors,” managing director Mervyn Greene, said. “In January, we were running at 200 to 250 percent year-on-year growth and have an ambition of at least 90 percent growth over the year. Given that we are outperforming our forecast already, it is possible we may achieve up to 155,000 visitors this year,” he added. Read more:
