Next weekend, on the 16th and 17th of May, the Docklands Summer Festival will take place on Grand Canal Dock.

There will be lots to do and see at the festival. This year, there are some of the world’s most talented wakeboarders taking part in a wakeboarding extravaganza, including Carro Djupsjö, who is the European Female Wakeboard Athlete of the Year and European champion. As well as wakeboarding, there will be lots of other attractions for all of the family to enjoy, there will be an international market, open air DJ’s, Come Try It Sessions and lots more!

The festival is organised on a non-profit voluntary basis by the Docklands Business Forum and supported by Waterways Ireland. In a recent article in the Sunday Business Post Magazine, Ciaran Flanagan, chairman of the forum, discussed the upcoming festival and all that the Docklands has to offer, saying “it’s a great amenity in the heart of our city, and it’s a really fascinating place full of history” .
