Winter Walks Around Dublin: Take a Stroll Around the Capital this Winter
November 18, 2021
There are a few lovely scenic routes with plenty of spots along the way to grab yourself a hot beverage to keep your hands warm.
As much as we love a cosy night in, a day under the duvet and endless movies, sometimes we have an abundance of energy that just needs to be used.
So where do you go walking in winter in Dublin?
Well, there are a few lovely scenic routes with plenty of spots along the way to grab yourself a hot beverage to keep your hands warm.
Royal Canal
Stretching from the city centre through Drumcondra, Phibsborough, Ashtown and beyond, Dublin’s royal canal makes for a lovely scenic walk no matter where you start. We recommend starting it at Drumcondra and making your way up towards Phibsborough, where you’ll find a whole range of coffee shops, restaurants and pus you can dip into if you’re in the mood.
Dodder Walk
The River Dodder breaks off from the Liffey near Grand Canal and stretches out to Ballsbridge and onto Rathfarnham. The banks of the river offer scenic views of Dublin’s quaint south side. A notable stop-off is Bushy park where, on the weekends, you may just find a market serving up great food and drinks.
