Everything To Know For Ed Sheeran at The 3Arena Tonight
March 30, 2023
Ed Sheeran is starting his series of “intimate” gigs in Dublin’s 3Arena tonight, where fans are expected to turn up in large numbers. The tickets for the event sold out within minutes, and only lucky 8,000 fans will get to witness the show. The gig is a precursor to his sixth album “Subtract,” which is scheduled to release in May. The fans will also have the opportunity to hear his latest single, “Eyes Closed,” live for the first time.
The Times reported that Sheeran’s first London gig last week was a grueling two-hour set with no backing singers, no band, and barely a break for water. Sheeran will take to the stage at around 8 pm, while Cork singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot will open the show at 7 pm.
The 3Arena doors will open at 6 pm, and the organizers are advising attendees to arrive early to avoid traffic. Public transport is the recommended mode of travel, and Irish Rail provides easy access to the venue from all over the country. Dublin Bus routes, including 151, 100X, 47, 500, 505, and N4, also take fans near the venue. The Point Village car park is the closest parking option, but spaces are limited.
The venue prohibits bringing food and drink from outside, but concession stands and bars will be available throughout the venue. Attendees can carry bags of up to 40cm x 40cm x 20cm, but smaller bags are subject to search. Banned items include bottles, cans, selfie sticks, laser pointers, large umbrellas, posters larger than A3, and professional camera equipment.
Although the official set list has not been confirmed, Sheeran stated on Instagram that the shows would feature no set list, and he would play what the fans wanted to hear. According to recent reviews, the setlist will include stripped-back, acoustic versions of Sheeran’s classic hits with his loop pedal. The London O2 gig featured songs like “Shivers,” “Thinking Out Loud,” and “Shape of You.” The encore included “Bad Habits” and “Shape of You.”
