Dublin’s ‘largest budget hotel’ officially opened on Townsend Street

Travelodge has opened “the largest budget hotel in the country” in Dublin city centre.

Located on Townsend Street, the 397-room Travelodge PLUS is the company’s 11th property in Ireland. It is the second largest hotel in the city centre, and the first to feature the their “premium economy” SuperRooms concept.

Travelodge paid homage to the hotel’s docklands location by commissioning Award-winning Dublin street artist Shane Sutton to create a nine-metre-high mural of a 19th-century diver overlooking the property’s heated outdoor terrace.

There are a total of 175 SuperRooms in the hotel which offer upgraded amenities such as Lavazza coffee machines, a larger desk and a three-jet shower. One of the highlights of the hotel is that there are double height rooms on the seventh floor with “exceptional views of the city”.
