Building Heights in Docklands are likely to increase

This month Dublin City Council has submitted a plan for approval to An Bord Pleanála to increase building heights in the north Dublin Docklands. If the plan is approved, heights could be increased up to six storeys in some city blocks that compose the Grand Canal Strategic Development Zone. If everything goes as expected, the residential tower on the northside (located on city block nine) will be the largest allowed with up to 25 storeys.

Would this be the beginning of a more realistic and permissive approach to tackle Dublin’s housing crisis?

Maybe!
