City’s Riverfest set to welcome 65,000 people to Docklands

This June Bank Holiday weekend North Wall Quay will once again play host to the Dublin Port Riverfest. A record 65,000 people are expected to visit the festival over the weekend, which will boost the local economy by €1m. Alan Robinson, from the Docklands Business Forum, is excited about the upcoming festival and had the following to say:
“We are passionate about bringing the Docklands to life for locals and visitors alike. The Dublin Port Riverfest has an important role to play in showcasing Dublin’s regenerated Docklands and attracting visitors to this vibrant part of the city”. The programme this year is jam packed with lots to do and see for all of the family to enjoy! Seven tall ships and schooners will berth at North Wall Quay for the weekend. There will be tugboat dancing, kayaking, boat races, trips on MV ST. Bridget and lots more!
Other highlights happening over the course of the festival include a pirate village, a carnival, an international food market and this year the festival is pirate themed and prizes will be given out for best dressed.
