Discover University Summer Programme at NCI

Discover University is a seven-day summer programme held in National College of Ireland every June that aims to give young people the opportunity to experience a taste of life at NCI and to see College as part of their future. The programme is aimed at students aged 14-17 years old from Dublin’s inner city and docklands areas and involves learning through fun and exciting projects and workshops. They will also have the opportunity to visit exciting and innovative companies in the Docklands area, to show how higher education translates into the working world. This year, the programme will run from Thursday 27th June 10 am to 3 pm.

Students may apply to one of our four core subject areas of Business, Computing, Early Years and Psychology. Business students will work throughout the week to come up with a plan to produce, market and sell their own homemade lemonade in two locations: CHQ and Grand Canal Dock Students will work in small groups, mentored by current NCI students and faculty staff, to effectively run their own business in order to make a profit.
