Dublin City 3D Hackathon

Dublin’s first city Hackathon took place last weekend in 1 Windmill Lane in the Dublin Docklands. The event was organised by Dublin City Council via the Smart Docklands programme. The aim of the Hackathon was to develop new ideas and concepts for the future of the city of Dublin. 80

‘Place Engage’, a town hall brought to life through augmented reality, was announced as the winning team. The winning concept was based on an augmented reality app which would enable the people of Dublin city to better understand new developments in the city whilst in initial conception phase and help to understand and visualise these ideas in real time.

The winners will be given the opportunity to develop their innovative idea further through funding and support which will enable them on their journey.
