From humble food truck to restaurant: How Dosa Dosa is bringing a slice of South India to Rialto

When Karthik Thiru came to Ireland 15 years ago, little did he know he’d be opening up the island’s first-ever award-winning dosa truck.

For those who are unfamiliar with this delicious South Indian breakfast dish, a dosa is a light, crispy pancake made with fermented rice and lentil batter. Fillings include anything from the classic spiced potatoes to curried lamb.

After working for nearly 10 years in the IT industry in Ireland, Karthik decided to explore other avenues and bring a delicious slice of South India to Dublin. He opened the first-ever dosa food truck during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Find out more here.
