New Ro-Ro ferry makes use of Dublin’s ramp berth

Celine, the world’s largest short sea ro-ro ferry departed Dublin Port on the 5th November having made use of Dublin Port’s new flexible ramp berth.

The newly installed ramp in Alexandra Basin has the capability to be positioned on both Ocean Pier and Alexandra Quay West. The flexibility of the ramp on both quays is provided given other ships use the basin and so the second ramp access ensures other Ro-Ro ships like Celine are secured a spot.

According to Dublin Port, growth in Ro-Ro freight was particularly strong with 736, 462 units in the first nine months, an increase of 5.3% on last year. To find out more, check out the article here.
