Dublin Live spoke to Met Eireann’s Deirdre Lowe about the dreaded drop in temperatures this week – and whether snow is on the cards.

Dubs are bracing themselves for a full throttle Arctic blast hitting the country over the coming days.

Temperatures will plunge to lows of minus four degrees on Tuesday night. And the cold snap will drag on into Wednesday, with traffic chaos likely amid the tumultuous weather.

Dublin Live spoke to Met Eireann’s Deirdre Lowe today for further insights on the biting cold ahead. The meteorologist confirmed that snow remains possible amid the freezing forecast.

Deirdre explained: “There is a slight chance for a dusting of snow in parts Dublin, although it will probably occur north of the Dublin area and on the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains. Daytime temperatures on Tuesday will hover around five degrees but it will turn very icy tomorrow night, with a widespread sharp to severe frost.”
